Position Title: WFS Vocational Qualifications Programme Manager

Job Description

Our objective is that in five years, Pearson will be one of the major players in the workforce development market, reaching tens of millions of enterprise and individual learners globally, generating more than £1bn in revenue and growing rapidly, with the potential to reach many multiples of that revenue in the years to come. The Workforce Skills business division will be the driving force in realizing this ambition.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing to budget, schedule and value
  • Commissioning, supporting and monitoring the provision of constituent services
  • Assessing and adapting the programme, especially as changes are recommended to improve operational processes and customer experience or where gaps in resources, knowledge and skills are identified
  • Driving decision making to keep the programme on track and to deliver maximum value
  • Creating and maintaining controls such as status reports, issues and risk logs, dependencies
  • Providing timely, accurate reports to the Regulatory team and wider Awarding Body governance when requested
  • Communicating effectively to leadership, stakeholders and the community of Pearson colleagues engaged on delivering our services, translating programme delivery speak to service terminology to promote confidence and buy-in
  • Leading, supporting and motivating the teams; leading by example and driving momentum and energy
  • Defining and managing operational KPIs and performance across vocational qualification delivery teams
  • Managing internal and external stakeholders, building a single team, and supporting the participation of everyone to create an environment of collaboration and performance
  • Ensuring all stakeholder groups are involved throughout the programme, from inception to launch and operational support
  • Leading the business change and transformation in a manner sympathetic to the business and designed to ensure clarity and understanding of the changes being implemented.
  • Identifying and implementing change management techniques to ensure the adoption of the solution and return of investment is achieved; acts as key change advocate

Requirements:

  • BTEC, Apprenticeship, Bachelor’s degree or any relevant qualification
  • 3-5 years of programme management experience, PRINCE or PMI certifications preferred
  • Experience analyzing data, following directions and procedures, and collaborating with others.
