Position Title: Content Strategy Manager

Job Description:

To develop, manage and disseminate Vanguard content to support sales and client requests across the UK and Europe. Ensures that content provided to key stakeholders both internal and external is current, consistent, compliant, and maintained proactively. Supports all European countries by using experience and knowledge to respond to requests, and stores, manages and maintains content in an organized and retrievable manner.

This role sits in the Sales Enablement & Operations Department. The RFP team is primarily responsible for delivering high quality information regarding Vanguard and its funds to B2B investors across the UK & Europe. This role will require you to work closely with the RFP team, as well as a wide variety of teams across the business to ensure we accurately represent Vanguard (e.g. investment management group, product, investment Stewardship). This is a great role for anyone wanting to network across the business, learn more about Vanguard funds, and manage a number of new key initiatives/projects to evolve the way we capture and disseminate information.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develops and manages the strategy surrounding sales content for UK/Europe by ensuring proper messaging, accuracy, consistency and other key factors. Considers how to make content more accessible
  • Builds and sustains process strategy for managing centralized content to keep it compliant and up-to-date. Ensures content and process consistency across relevant sales collateral. Educates others on the processes built.

  • Establishes and implements a governance process for managing and prioritising content. Proactively identifies and remediates gaps in existing content and creates content for new products and services.
  • Owns the relationship with subject matter experts (SMEs) within UK/Europe and other regions as appropriate, and within areas including Product (PRD), Office of the General Counsel, Human Resources, Financial Adviser Services, and Corporate Communications. Establishes service levels with SMEs to ensure all content is updated in a timely fashion.
  • Establishes good working relationships with SMEs, technical and business leads, decision-makers, marketing managers and researchers, communications professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Manages multiple projects efficiently to deliver the highest quality content and collateral. Identifies, evaluates, and resolves issues that may impact the completion of projects. Communicates project status and other key information regularly with internal stakeholders.
  • Accountable for timely delivery and maintenance of UK/European content to minimize legal and regulatory risks. Proofreads, edits, and collaborates to make appropriate changes, including those suggested by SMEs and compliance.
  • Tags content purposefully and consistently to improve database search functionality. Increases efficiency and supports business goals.
  • Creates in-depth, compelling communications and positioning on a range of subjects, including Vanguard funds, products, and services, financial markets, the economy, regulatory matters, investment processes, and internal communication topics.
  • Provides creative direction and guidance on messaging and/or content strategy, working collaboratively with distribution, marketing and cross border Content Strategists.
  • Ensures third party systems (e.g. Qvidian) remain compliant and consistent with evolving business needs. Manages the relationships with external Due Diligence (DD) providers, the setup and maintenance of external DD systems, and ensures alignment of the internal content database structure with the requirements of the external DD systems.
  • Acts as team resource and back-up to RFP leadership during times of high volumes. Ability to provide reviews of RFP/DDQs prior to sending to sales.
  • Coordinates special projects and other duties as assigned. Participates in potential readouts to the team, management and other departments as applicable.
  • Assumes a leadership role on strategic projects for the department (eg efficiencies, accessibility, communication) that require content, data analytics and subject matter expertise.

Reqirements:

  • An undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • A minimum of five years of work experience. RFP/marketing/ investment/content management background preferred
  • Knowledge of Vanguard’s European business, including products, services, and the markets preferred
  • Understanding of UK and European regulatory environments, or the willingness to learn about them
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to define and establish service levels, and manage multiple projects independently
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills and ability to think strategically
