Position Title: Transportation Coordinator

Job Description:

This vacancy is for the Northern Region Distribution centre; based in South Elmsall, Pontefract. You will be required to work predominately 18.00-02.00 but flexibility is requires across all 3 shifts any 5 days from 7.

Responsibilities: 

• Manage the day to day delivery activity of the Transport function in an efficient manner whilst abiding by all legislation.
• Provide a first line of contact with stores in the event of schedule changes and daily issues.
• Ensure vehicles and trailers are kept within service schedules, booking all required maintenance and repairs with the relevant workshop.
• Provide an effective shift handover to the incoming team.
• De-brief drivers after every trip and deliver feedback to the appropriate department.
• Ensure all drivers are issued with correct delivery instructions and activities.

Reqirements:

• Able to work within a team as well as on own initiative.
• Previous experience within a transport environment including managing drivers is essential.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Customer facing exposure.
• Flexibility and reliability.
• Exposure to cost accountability is desirable but not essential i.e. understanding business impact and costs of your decisions.
• Proactive problem solving and decision-making skills.
