Job Description

A great opportunity to join our Global Trade and Compliance team. As Senior Manager you will partner on key business activities, initiatives and projects with trade compliance implications. You will also lead a team responsible for day to day Customs operations and ensuring compliance with Customs requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and support to the finance teams on Customs data, analysis and reporting,
  • Managing the Customs warehouses
  • Developing and maintaining systems governing cross border movement of product, duties, and Customs programs
  • Lead and maintain implementation of Customs programs such as new Free Trade Agreements (FTA’s), Free Trade Zones (FTZ’s), and Customs simplified procedures
  • Work with IT on delivering new trade compliance software to cover global trade compliance
  • Managing of exotics/CITES and restricted party screening
  • Managing export control movements of IT equipment cross border
  • Managing team workload – 10 people across EMEIA and US
  • Motivate, enthuse, train, develop and retain current team
  • Successful resolution of government audits pertaining to cross border movement of goods
  • Run financial reporting and analysis in conjunction with finance team
  • Work on new product implementations including regulatory advice

Requirements:

  • Manage commodity code validation & maintenance in SAP/ MIC software system
  • Manage brokers and contracts to facilitate compliant Customs entry declarations on behalf of business
  • Audit brokers’ operations for compliance and integrity
  • Monitor regulatory changes affecting Customs requirements and translate changes into operational procedures
  • Advise on legal matters relating to the import / export of Burberry with legal team to co-ordinate resolution
  • Work to enhance compliance accreditation programmes
