Position Title:Data Analyst

Job Description:

The Data Quality and Control (DQ&C) team was introduced in 2018 and its role is to manage the quality and control services for all data domains within the Santander business. Within DQ&C, the Derived Data team are responsible for data quality within reporting databases and warehousesData for several key regulatory and financial reports has moved to a data lake to leverage the availability and consistency of this new platform. This role will assist the implementation of a new Quality and Control model to ensure that lake data is accurate, complete, and appropriate for its users.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the resolution of issues in conjunction with internal customers and IT
  • Providing expert knowledge into project workstreams and user testing
  • Working collaboratively within a small, dedicated team, providing support to reach our goals
  • Defining data controls using Proc SQL in SAS Enterprise Guide
  • Evaluating and understanding data quality results; assessing and clearly communicating the impacts to stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Disciplined and structured attitude that can balance different priorities and still deliver to tight deadlines
  • Proven ability in accurate analysis of data and focus on detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – able to work with all levels of staff, and build good relationships with other departments
  • A positive attitude, able to work using own initiative and demonstrate a mature approach to changing demands
  • Experience of large volume data analysis, interpretation of results and production of summaries/recommendations
  • Knowledge and experience of using SQL to interrogate and report data as well as identifying and assessing risks in the movement and transformation of data
