Position Title: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Job Description:

The Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs (MOCA) has an exciting opportunity for an Administrative Assistant to implement strategies that advance cultural tourism including music, work closely with the Director and serve as a liaison between the community and the city.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Cultural Affairs in the day-to-day operation of the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs.
  • Actively seek collaborative partnerships and grant funding opportunities to support program initiatives. Demonstrate excellent grant writing and research skills, networking, and nonprofit management knowledge.
  • Develop long and short-term outreach plans and goals in the music sector.   Responds, addresses, and resolves cultural tourism, creative placemaking, and music inquires.
  • Interacts with the public, musicians, artists, and executives, communicating both orally and through written correspondence, explaining policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Serves as backup to the Cultural Affairs Community Liaison.
  • Ability to travel to multiple locations throughout the city.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Candidate must have good writing and communications skills and the ability to create reports and presentations.
  • Candidate must stay informed of the latest trends and relevant issues in cultural tourism, creative placemaking, and music.
  • Candidate must be highly organized and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple tasks and incoming requests.
  • Candidate must have a positive attitude, the ability to perform responsibilities without constant oversite and work as a member of the team.
  • This position requires travelling to multiple locations on city business.
