Job Description:

The Media & Communications department is responsible for differentiating Arsenal from other clubs. This will be done by driving the club’s values to engage fans, key internal and external stakeholders and maximise commercial opportunities through innovative, consistent, and integrated communications across all platforms. The team works closely with all departments within Arsenal to produce engaging content and campaigns that helps develop brand and fanbase engagement at home and abroad while protecting the club’s reputation. The team is responsible for the monetisation (as appropriate) of all Club content, in all its formats and Club owned media rights. JOB PURPOSE Driven by the club’s strategy, vision and values, the job holder will undertake the planning, development and delivery of communications projects to engage the global Arsenal family and tell Arsenal story.

Responsibilities:

  • The job holder will be responsible for: Protecting and enhancing the reputation of the club by coming up with ideas and effectively communicating projects and initiatives that will make our fans proud
  • Utilising time with players, club spokespeople and leadership in meaningful and compelling ways that are aligned to our communications strategy and objectives
  • Leading communications related to Arsenal for Everyone to ensure everybody feels welcome at the club Driving communications support for the Arsenal Foundation and raising awareness of our work in our local and global communities
  • Supporting communications that drive commercial objectives relating to club partners, retail, ticketing, membership and venue, amongst other areas of the commercial department Supporting delivery of football media operations as required
  • Advising on and responding to general media enquiries ensuring all relevant stakeholders are kept informed Drafting key communications including briefing materials, press releases and statements which are consistent with the club’s communications strategy and objectives
  • Managing relationships with stakeholders from departments across the club to ensure external communications are aligned Managing relationships as appropriate with external stakeholders including media, influencers and governing bodies Intercepting issues before they materialise and offering strategic advice and support in times of crisis

Requirements:

  • We’re looking for someone who can think strategically and is efficient in campaign planning and delivery
  • The job holder should be proactive, be capable of thinking ahead and generating innovative ideas In a fast-moving environment and a changing world,
  • the right candidate will be able to tell a compelling story across a variety of platforms and have the desire to deliver impactful and engaging work
  • The job holder will havestrong experience working in a communications role and will be comfortable leading projects

  • We are a football club, so they’ll need to have a good understanding of the football industry and its stakeholders
  • The job holder should have a strong understanding and hands-on experience of the latest digital trends, while also having an eye on those of the future
  • They should have excellent knowledge of the local, national and international media landscape and the latest communications channels and influencers
  • They will be across the latest global cultural trends; especially those that could have an impact on the club and our people With their creative talent,
  • the job holder should be able to grasp our brand strategy and support its delivery making our comms fresh and engaging
  • They job holder should be able to use a range of evaluation tools to develop insights that can be used to explore new ways of doing things to improve our results It’s a busy, deadline-driven, multi-tasking world – but the job holder should have the ability to stay on top of it – and have fun while doing it
