Position Title: Trading Controller

Job Description:

This role will be a key member of the Commercial team who have responsibility for defining ITV’s commercial relationship and reciprocal investment with agencies and clients across all revenue streams.

Responsibilities:

  • Working with Trading and Commercial Strategy Director to evolve and develop the agency and client approaches
  • Being the lead representative for ITV across agency portfolios, ensuring strong relationships across agency senior leadership teams.
  • Driving awareness of and engagement with ITV’s increasing capabilities and innovations across addressable and linear advertising across the all agency departments including digital, planning and strategy departments
  • Being an ambassador for ITV Sales repositioning towards evidence-based sales.
  • Supporting the Director of Trading and Commercial Strategy on key client negotiations
  • Maximising revenue and ensuring agencies fulfil deals; driving addressable and new business revenues
  • Overseeing and being responsible for line by line negotiations and ad hoc business
  • Leading and managing Trading and New Business managers.
  • Account managing a portfolio, building and maintaining relationships with external agencies/clients.
  • Negotiating and pitching for adhoc and new business successfully creating win / win outcomes.
  • Working collaboratively with all other areas of ITV be it Marketing, Finance, Internal Sales, Programming etc

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in broadcast and digital media sales
  • Strong existing relationships with board level decision makers
  • Highly numerate
  • Experience with VOD advertising
  • As our Trading Controller you’ll come to us as a team player with strong negotiation and leadership skills and a proven track record in innovation, creativity and lateral problem solving.
  • With your track record in dealing with agency and client buying teams, you’ll have a thorough knowledge of the UK Broadcast (including key areas of regulation such as CRR), Digital markets (and associated dynamics) and be able to assimilate, understand and exploit emerging trends and opportunities.
  • You will be comfortable simplifying complex briefs, working in a pressurised sales environment with high workloads, complex issues and competing priorities working and have excellent communication skills.
