Responsibilities:

  • Be comfortable with quickly changing priorities, adversarial shifts and multiple initiatives running simultaneously
  • Apply your expertise in online abuse, technical investigations and data analysis to identify opportunities to make Facebook’s response to abuse of its platforms measurably better
  • Contribute to a variety of codebases across Facebook’s technical stack: Haskell, python, php
  • Be a thought leader, bring your deep understanding of online abuse and adversarial behaviors to software engineering teams, and guide teams’ overall direction
  • Work independently or partner with software engineering, data science and operations to leverage those opportunities at scale

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of managing and executing on short term and long term projects
  • Demonstrated understanding of security and integrity risks, and how they apply to Facebook and its users.
  • Development experience in Haskell
  • Experience working in an environment with minimal oversight, being self-driven, prioritizing and executing independently
  • 2+ years experience doing quantitative analysis
  • Experience in adversarial space like financial fraud, spam, CERT
  • Experience investigating and acting on high-impact threats and online threat actors
  • Experience coding in at least one of the following: PHP, Python, Haskell, or Java
  • Experience working across the broader anti-abuse/security/Trust & Safety community
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Math/Finance, Physics, Applied Economics, Statistics or other technical field. Advanced degrees
