Position Title: Industrial Mechanic (Building Services)

Job Description:
The Industrial Mechanic provides senior level mechanical experience in the installation, repair, and maintenance of various industrial equipment, vehicles, or heavy automotive equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnoses, identifies, and determines equipment failures; identifies cause and ensures appropriate and professional repairs are completed by the mechanics.
- Inspects and tests completed work to ensure repairs were performed according to standards; provides direction and leadership for industrial equipment serving aviation, utilities, and other departments.
- Researches and orders parts needed for repairs, maintains records of purchases and installations according to established procedures, and keeps inventory of items needed for industrial equipment and vehicles.
- Demonstrates proper work methods and safety procedures to other mechanics and helpers to ensure that work is performed in a proper and safe manner and to assist with complex repairs.
- Inspects and executes repair, replacement, fabrication, modification, and installation of various types of plant equipment, including pumps, valves, chemical handling equipment, and all other related equipment in a timely manner to allow continuous operation of plant facilities when equipment malfunctions occur.
- Performs major and minor repairs on a variety of machinery and mechanical equipment, including air conditioning, heating and ventilation equipment, in compliance with operation manuals and manufacturer’s specifications to ensure equipment operates properly.
- Changes belts, oil, filters, greases bearings, clean, lubricates or replaces parts on various mechanical and electrical equipment; troubleshoots mechanical and electrical equipment and provides expertise on industrial, aviation, and heavy equipment.
- Serves as lead worker over lower level mechanics.
- Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma/ GED or equivalent work experience.
- Four (4) years of experience performing preventative maintenance on various mechanical, electrical, HVAC, or heavy plant equipment.
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
- Subject to twenty-four/seven (24/7) call-out.
- Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of steam boilers, chillers and air handling systems
- Experience with cooling towers and hot and chilled water pumps
- Experience with facility maintenance (e.g., general plumbing, carpentry and electrical skills).
- Ability to work in confined spaces and frequently use a ladder.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools and other equipment using good safety practices.
