Position Title: Senior Registration Officer

Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Registrar Officer within Bath and North East Somerset Registration Services, working together to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the statutory and essential key services.We are looking for a confident and highly motivated professional individual with excellent customer services and communication skills.You will have previous experience of registration or legal work and of working in a front facing environment. You will be responsible for the legal and accurate registration of births, deaths, still births, marriages and civil partnerships, taking and recording notices of marriage, civil partnerships, performing marriage, civil partnership, citizenship and other ceremonies.   In addition, you will contribute to the development and growth of the service and provide a range of other related duties and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • You will have advanced Excel skills and have experience of financial modelling.
  • You will also have excellent communication skills and enjoy working in a team but will also be comfortable working on your own to meet tight deadlines.Your main place of work will be the award-winning, modern Civic Centre in Keynsham, halfway between Bath and Bristol, easily accessible via car or public transport, with a train station 5 minutes’ walk away.DHI are looking for individuals who have a good understanding of the causes of homelessness and experience of working with people with complex needs and a history of rough sleeping.
  • You should have a full professional accountancy qualification (finalists will also be considered), with a minimum of three years’ experience, or equivalent.
  • This role offers the opportunity of line management and development of a Career Grade Accountant, and as such you will possess the skills needed to fulfil this part of your role.
  • Experience of working with people who have more complex needs such as substance misuse or mental health difficulties is also key.
