Position Title:Bilingual Career Support Specialist

Job Description:

The primary focus will be working individuals in need of re-training or work-based learning opportunities. This position will require knowledge of workforce development programs and must possess the ability to work independently and effectively with job seeking customers.

Responsibilities:

  •  Provide frontline information and referrals to support job seeker needs, including information about Unemployment Insurance benefits, WfBC programs, Labor Market information, and general public benefits system.
  • Determine eligibility for WfBC programs by interviewing applicants, assessing needs, and collecting all required documentation.
  • Assist clients in developing goals and an individualized employment plans that will help the them achieve unsubsidized employment.
  • Ensure that client files meet all data integrity and data validation requirements set forth by local, state, and federal policies.
  • Empower clients to make choices that reflect their unique needs and circumstances and provide assistance in offering options in their employment journey.
  • Attend all necessary WfBC and Career Service team meetings
  • Attend trainings that will enhance the services provide to the community.
  • Perform other related duties as required
  • May be reassigned in an emergency situation.

  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills with businesses, co-workers, and other team members
  • Knowledge and understanding of existing and developing organizational strategies
  • Ability to build and maintain employer relationships.
  • Experience completing accurate and timely reports
  • Ability to work well with all levels of staff within the organization and individuals with multiple barriers
  • Knowledge of community resources
  • Ability to interpret and apply federal and state regulations and guidelines
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Must demonstrate initiative, be well organized, motivated, detailed oriented and accuracy driven
  • Must be able to handle assignments quickly and efficiently, meet deadlines and handle confidential matters in a mature and responsible manner
  • Establish, maintain and foster positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
